As I sat here cleaning up my computer to return it to IT, I realized that I had better make an entry before I lose my chance! The Devlins are heading home!!! We are leaving FInland on the 2nd of April to start the next new and exciting adventure. I will refrain from giving into the bittersweetness of sentimentality and nostalgia that I am feeling and just stick with the facts!
I have wrapped up my lab work here in Jyväskylä and I must say I could not be happier with how things turned out with our project. It has been the experience that I had hoped it would be and more! I know we have many great papers in the works and I have learned so much! Thanks to all who were a part of it!
So, we have a month of long-awaited time with family, all over the States. We arrive in Maine, then a nearly county-wide tour begins with stops in South Carolina, Ohio, Wisconsin as we make our way WEST!
I am happy to write that I have a postdoc position at Flathead Lake Biological Station working with Dr Bonnie Ellis in Montana. I am thrilled to have this opportunity and cannot wait to jump into it!
As you can guess, I am strapped for time, quite stressed, and have only a week left before we all get on a plane and leave Soumi. I am so very thankful for the chance to have lived here, and to have gotten to know the culture, the people, and the lakes as well as I have. Bet your bottom dollar that our first home improvement will be installing a Sauna!! Kiitos ja Näkemiin!
